Center for Architecture Foundation Offers Nationwide Grants

The Center for Architecture Foundation is offering 3 architecture-related grants to applicants nationwide.

These grants include the following:

Arnold W. Brunner Grant – Given to an advanced study in any area of architectural investigation which will effectively contribute to the knowledge, teaching or practice of the art and science of architecture.

Highlights & Eligibility:

  • Single award of $15,000 will be given
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen engaged in the profession of architecture or a related field and have received their first professional degree at least five years prior to the date of application.
  • Application due February 1st by 5:00 P.M.

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant – Given to further the personal and professional development of an architect in early or midcareer through travel.

Highlights and Eligibility:

  • Single or multiple awards totaling $15,000
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen with a degree in architecture as well as a full-time practitioner, either licensed or unlicensed.
  • The application deadline for the LeBrun Grant is November 1st by 5:00 pm EST.
    As the deadline falls on a weekend, the application must be submitted by 5pm the following Monday (November 3rd).

Douglas Haskell Award for Student Journals –  Given to encourage student journalism on architecture, planning and related subjects, and to foster regard for intelligent criticism among future professionals.

Highlights and Eligibility:

  •  Single or multiple awards up to $2,000
  • Any journal (online or print) published by a school of architecture, landscape architecture or planning in the United States that is edited by students is eligible. The publication must have been produced in the current or previous school year.
  • Applications must be received on May 1st by 5:00 pm EDT.

The Foundation is also offering scholarships to students in New York State. An overview of the three scholarships is provided below. For more information regarding both the grants and scholarships, visit the Foundation’s website.

SCHOLARSHIPS – All scholarships are open to students in New York State.

Eleanor Allwork Scholarship – Merit-based scholarships support architecture students with demonstrated financial need.

Center for Architecture Design Scholarship – Merit-based scholarships that support students studying architecture or a related discipline with demonstrated financial need.

Walter A. Hunt, Jr. Scholarship – A two-year scholarship to supplement tuition and related costs only for New York public high school students applying to NAAB-accredited schools of architecture in New York State.
