‘Yara’ Norway Open Innovation Challenge

Do you like thinking outside the box? Do you have an inquisitive mind? Do you like challenging conventional wisdom? Join Yara’s Open Innovation Challenge! We’re awarding NOK 100.000 in prize money to the student who comes up with the best idea for solving some of the world’s major challenges.

We are looking for your ground-breaking idea! Yara believes in the power of young innovators. Just like Yara’s founding father Kristian Birkeland invented fertilizer production more than 100 years ago, we are now looking for the next revolution. This is your chance to make a difference!

How do you enter the competition?

Yara’s first Open Innovation Challenge addresses students in the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) and will run from June 14th – September 14th. We want to hear your ideas on how to solve four of the major challenges of our times: Digitalisation of the farm of the future, Circular economy, Sustainable packaging, Environmental solutions. Click here for details.

What is in it for you?

  • The student with the best idea will win NOK 100.000 – if two ideas win, the prize is split equally
  • Potential contract with Yara to further develop your idea
  • Prioritized boarding to summer internship 2018 and/or part-time/permanent position
  • Expert advice and presentation to Yara’s Executive Management

Innovation is the key to success!

Yara works with farmers and industrial customers to deliver innovative solutions that help responsibly feed the world and protect the planet. We do this by sharing knowledge through collaboration.

The world needs fresh and bold ideas, so start sending us your input! We look forward to hearing from you!
